You will have seen an earlier post by me about Citizens Advice Bureau surgeries at the Crossway in Harborne. In addition to that we now have another amazing service coming to the Valley that you or a friend might be interested in, see below!

What? In the morning there will specialist advisers to discuss housing issues with local residents and the afternoon there will be advisers to help with debt or money issues. If you live on the valley and would value a bit of extra help, come on down!

Housing might cover any of the below….

  • Homelessness
  • Rent Repossessions
  • Mortgage Repossessions
  • Housing and Council Tax Issues
  • Nuisance or Anti-Social Issues

Debt might cover any of the below….

  • Rent or mortgage Arrears
  • Council Tax Arrears
  • Loan Repayments/Debt Re-scheduling
  • Debit/Credit Card Installments
  • Advice on Bailiffs
  • Debt Relief Orders (DRO)

When? The advice surgeries will be running on a Monday during the day, although if you have a specific need the advisers maybe able to come in at another time or arrange a time for you to meet with them at their centre in Ladywood.

Timings:

  • Debt: 9:30am – 12:30am
  • Housing Advice: 1:30pm – 4:30pm

Where? The advice surgeries will be taking place at St Francis Centre, click on the link to find the address if you aren’t sure where the centre is located.

Who? This project is run by the Nishkam Centre, a community project based in Handsworth and associated with the Sikh faith. The group are working in partnership with local churches and community to make this project happen and receive their funding from the Lottery and other grant bodies.
